Cow’s milk is not designed for human consumption. Cow’s milk contains on average about three times the amount of protein than human milk does, which creates metabolic disturbances in humans that have detrimental bone health consequences, according to a study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology.

Despite the hype, cow’s milk actually deprives our bones of calcium. Animal proteins produce acid when broken, and calcium is an excellent neutralizer, so… you can see where this is going. To reduce and eliminate acids, our bodies need to use the calcium contained in milk – as well as others from our stores. So every glass of milk we drink drips calcium into our bones. This is why medical research after medical research has found that people who consume too much cow’s milk have significantly higher rates of fractures than those who drink less milk. And if you eat large amounts of cheese? Throw in a collection of saturated fats, sodium, and cholesterol besides.
Milk and cheese have been linked to an increased risk of developing prostate cancer. But foods without milk? They have been shown to slow down its progress.
Lactose in cow’s milk can be difficult for people to digest, leading to nausea, cramps, gas, bloating, and diarrhea. The difficulty of digesting milk can increase over time in life and lead to the persistence of symptoms.
In many studies, the use of all types of dairy “products” was linked to an increase in acne and acne in boys and girls.

Cows are often sprayed with antibiotics to keep them alive and produce milk in polluted farm conditions. We can be thankful for their overuse due to the proliferation of antimicrobials. One serving of whole milk may contain more than 20 percent of the recommended daily portion of saturated fat. If you use three whole milk filters, you are already 60 percent of the day – even before eating any food. Cheese is bad: Harvard reports that pizza and cheese are the main sources of saturated fat in the American diet.
Despite industry claims, a study of more than 12,000 children showed that when they drank more milk, they gained more weight – and skimmed milk of one percent seemed to lead to gaining more weight than drinking 2 percent or whole milk. The study also found that adding soda to milk did not lead to weight loss.
Cheese can contain up to 400 mg of sodium per ounce. Varieties including halloumi, blue-green, feta, and imported Edam (as well as processed cheese) are so loaded with sodium that they are actually more salty than seawater.
Except for humans (and related animals that are fed by humans), no species that drinks milk is beyond the age of natural weaning or drinking the milk of any kind. Cow’s milk is suitable for the nutritional needs of calves, who have four stomachs and gain hundreds of pounds in a few months — sometimes weighing more than 1 kg before they are two years old. Cow’s milk does not meet the nutritional needs of people, so it is not surprising that eating it and its ingredients causes us so many problems.
